Not a bad start to 2022- we have a new paper out based on Josie's molecular level research trying to create tuneable promoters in the green alga Chlamydomonas reinhardtii. This work benefitted from expertise at UCSD during a stay in San Diego in 2018 and its great to see such encouraging results. The key findings here enable deeper understanding of how promoters drive recombinant protein expression in this host cell system, as well as the discovery of novel cis-regulatory elements.
