We have an opening to work on an exciting project in collaboration with the University of Michigan and Princeton University, USA. The research is focussed on engineering microbial consortia to use gaseous nitrogen (Azotobacter vinelandii) and carbon dioxide (Synechoccocus elongatus) to make bio-products. Reconstruction of metabolic pathways in three engineered bacteria through analysis of differential protein expression will enable us to control interactions and optimise product generation.
We are looking for a researcher with experience in proteomics, from experimental design and analytical mass spectrometry, through to bioinformatics, although training will be provided with specific workflows. A passion for microbial systems engineering is a must!
The post has a tentative start date of April 2022, and is for 18 months, so please email j.pandhal@sheffield.ac.uk with a CV if interested.
